Hi Jessica - The County of Monterey is out of funds for thier first time home buyer program at this time. I sent you the link to thier site to monitor for future funding and will post on site later.

Nehemiah (with an FHA loan) and CalHFA are state wide programs that are available. Type these programs into the search bar for more information.

Hi,
I am searching for a down payment assistance program in orange county, ca. As of oct. 2008 alot of them are no longer providing assistance. My husband is a private school teacher and the market is still to expensive to afford the american dream on our salaries.
Please help.

Hi Jo,

There is that challenge with many of the county and city down payment assistance programs. You may want to look towards an FHA loan that requires only a minimum 3.5% down payment, of which 100% of that can be a gift from a relative, spouse, fiance.

What cities specifically are you looking in? There are many city specific programs available and we will be happy to do research for you.
